人機互動 + 虛擬人類體驗
隨著現代人生活型態的改變與各類型科技的出現,人們醒著的時間已由五十年前的「日出而作,日落而息」,轉而為跳躍於虛擬與實體空間中,兩者間的界線逐漸模糊難分。研究顯示人們在虛擬空間中的體驗,會影響其在真實世界裡的心靈與行為,因此了解虛擬空間體驗如何形塑人類經驗、他們在3D情境中扮演化身的感受與行為、以及日常生活裡的行為如何透過虛擬互動經驗而被改變,是我們所關注的議題。
近年來Lab的研究計畫及學生論文領域為透過虛擬世界 (virtual world) 與虛擬實境 (virtual reality) 等科技進行人類行為觀察研究,以學術基礎探究為主,使研究成果能被實踐於多種應用領域中,包含教育及訓練,醫療科技,環境保護,健康意識,人際互動等。讓互動科技產品與使用者體驗設計師能透過這些研究發現,來強化虛擬科技之設計以優化各層面的生活與工作。
實驗室主持人許有真老師自2000年進入清大後即以人機互動領域為基礎,進行學習與電腦中介(CMC)相關研究,隨後的研究範圍擴及使用者與電腦代理人互動中之行為觀察 (Computer As Social Actor)。近十年之研究跨入虛擬空間領域,觸角也涵蓋了VR與嚴肅遊戲於教育及醫療訓練之研究與應用。

VHE Lab 近十年研究領域簡介
在教育與訓練領域,透過VR科技達到行為改變:

 
1.    VR in medical education 我們與醫院合作,使用VR科技於醫學生臨床診斷與其他類型訓練之研發應用
2.    Career exploration 透過在虛擬環境中去體驗不同類型之職業,以達到類似實習效果,作為生涯探索工具
3.    Pro-environmental behavior 藉由VR的沈浸效果,讓使用者於虛擬環境中體驗其化身之行為所帶來的環境變化,以培育出自發性環保行為
4.    VR in healthcare education & training 在健康教育議題上,傳統方式利用文字或影片作為宣導,但效果有限,我們的研究發現在虛擬世界中透過實際體驗黃斑部病變效果,就能達到有效的行為改變
5.    Bullying prevention 在真實世界的霸凌情境中,多數旁觀者均不願意出手協助受害者,我們的研究發現透過VR短暫體驗受害者情境,即能有效轉變霸凌事件旁觀者成為挺身者,為霸凌教育提供有效的訓練模式。
 

在虛擬世界(virtual world) 中扮演化身時,被賦予的角色特徵如何影響其感受、情緒與行為:

1.    Effect of fantasy in emotion 虛擬世界中奇幻性對玩家情緒與行為之影響
2.    Proteus effect: 透過普羅透斯效應檢視玩家與化身相似性如何影響化身行為
3.    Gender and virtual world wayfinding 探討當使用者扮演男女性虛擬化身時,角色所帶來的性別刻板印象如何影響化身在虛擬空間中的尋路行為
4.    Avatar and emotional bonding 藉由實驗去了解當我們與虛擬化身有較強的情感連結時,是否讓玩家在虛擬世界中的自我保護行為能接近真實世界,藉以了解人們在真實與虛擬世界的行為差異
5.    Cheating behavior in virtual world 研究探討在扮演虛擬化身時,賦予創意角色是否會促發相對應的欺騙行為,以檢視心理學效應是否同樣能被應用來解釋虛擬世界中的人類行為
